Special Kids Special Families (SKSF) is a Colorado 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Colorado Springs founded in 1998 to provide respite and specialized care for children and adults with disabilities and special needs.
Various programs offer community support services to families and are designed to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities throughout their life span.
PROGRAMS & SERVICES
Zach’s Place Child and Respite Center
SKSF’s founding program, Zach’s Place at The Laurie Hillyard Family Center, provides childcare & respite care services to children ages 2.5-18 with disabilities and special needs. Specialized care is offered to children with a diagnosed disability.
Foster Care & Adoption Services
Loving families caring for children of all ages and cultural backgrounds along the Front Range. Uniquely positioned as the go-to agency supporting foster children with disabilities.
Adult Day Program & Services
SKSF Adult Services Program offers community and center based (Joey’s Place) activities supporting adults with disabilities, their families and caregivers. Services include a Residential Services Program supporting adults through caring home environments.
Behavioral Health Services
SKSF offers counseling and specialized therapy to change behaviors, thoughts, emotions and how people see and understand situations. Our Behavioral Health team will consider your physical, behavioral and emotional aspects of your health and help determine a course of action that is best for you.
